DDT Ocala Seminar - all 3 days Auditor

Thanks to our Organisational Directors at the Working Beauceron Association, we have the opportunity to run a DDT training seminar and trial on the 6th, 7th & 8th October this year! Train with me - Georgie, the founder of DDT, and learn what goes into the trials and why. We had such amazing feedback during our previous US seminars, as it’s so much easier in person to understand, it was so lovely seeing people get the idea and understand the values behind the trials. Open to everyone! If you’re interested in competing, hosting, judging, becoming a DDT Expert instructor or just interested to find out more about Detection Dog Trials then this seminar is ideal. Days will be available to book separately for those that can’t make all three days. We obviously have to have enough interest to make this happen so please let us know if you would be interested only if you can make the dates! Day 1 - Train to trial or trial to train? We look at what goes into the trials from a practical point of view, search area sizes and hide types and look at how the trials actually help with training. We will look at what goes into judging, what we are looking for in a successful team and the all important indication! Day 2 - We will have a morning session on training an indication for all types of dogs, how to get that duration if you require it and your dogs value for the odour. Then in the afternoon we will look at some of the more challenging hides and also look at clearing an area (working blind not knowing how many hides there are). Calling the area clear, is important at Intermediate level and can gain you extra marks. Day 3 is a 2 element (2 runs) trial at this fantastic venue! * we may add more elements depending on judge’s availability They will be available to book individually or seperately and there will be limited places for judges in training to come and observe during the trial. Cost: Individual training day handler place 6th or 7th $245 2 element trial entry $60 DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR ALL 3 DAYS! All three days as a handler (includes 2 element trial entry) $450 Auditor $60 per training day or $100 for both training days. $150 to audit and shadow judging (limited) * if you are training as a DDT judge there is no cost to shadow/judge on trial day, but places are limited.
