The Score

Nine categories. One honest picture of your team.

Every element is scored across nine categories — from Odour Location and Commitment to Odour through to Team Impression. Not just whether your dog found the hide, but how your team worked to get there.

Whether your dog finds or does not find, the judge saw everything. The score reflects it honestly. Every result is permanent in DDT Pro.

Every Team

Any dog. Any odour. Any background. One standard.

DDT places no restrictions on breed, size, experience, or odour. Birch or bedbugs. First trial or fiftieth. The retired couple and their spaniel alongside the law enforcement team with six working dogs — scored by the same nine categories, held to the same standard.

Not For Competition entries are welcome at any level. Come and work your dog. The standard is there when you are ready for it.

Moving Up

You decide when you are ready. The work decides when the door opens.

Progression in DDT belongs to the handler. There is no requirement to start at the bottom and no timeline imposed from outside. You enter at the level that fits your team.

Prelim asks for a trial win or three scores of 75 or above. Novice asks for the same commitment across five trials. When the work earns it, the door opens. You may never move back down.
