THE RULES
The standard is only as good as the rules that protect it. Everything here exists to make sure what you built with your dog gets a fair chance to reveal itself.
ENTRIES
Every team that has ever stepped into a DDT search area arrived the same way. They found the sport, they recognised something in it, and they showed up.
The retired couple and their spaniel. The law enforcement handler with six certified working dogs. The competitor who has been working in other sports and is ready for something that sees more of what they have built. The handler entering their very first trial with a dog they have spent a year preparing. The person who simply has a dog they love and a curiosity about what they might discover together. All of them here. All of them welcome.
Any breed may enter, including mixed breeds. DDT has no experience requirements and no prerequisites beyond a membership number. Everything you need to get started is waiting for you in DDT Pro.
Nervous and reactive dogs are welcome. If your bitch comes into season before a trial, let the host know as early as you can. In most cases they will find a way to accommodate you. If they cannot, your entry carries forward to a future trial.
The door is open. Everything else is between you and your dog.
